The Ham Radio training center conducted a
special get-together meeting of
Ham Radio trainees at 3-00PM on 25-10-15 (Sunday) in the premises of Regional
Science Center besides Punnami hotel, Bhavanipuram, Vijayawada. All the 43
qualified candidates in the recent Ham examination and local Ham Radio
operators were participated in the meeting.
Dr. Sarth
Kurmar, Director (Engineering-PG) at K L University, attended as a chief guest
and presented the Ham Radio qualifying certificates to the successful
candidates. He encouraged all the Engineering students to take part active role
in this activity to hone their technical skills.
Mr. Ramana, Ex Head of the department of physics, Sarada Degree College,
a Ham Radio operator addressed the participants and narrated briefly, how his
all the three sons excelled in abroad in their academic carrier being Ham Radio
operators.
Mr. Sathish a charted accountant by profession is an active Ham Radio
operator from the city and is also active in other technical hobbies like Piloting, Paragliding and Aero modelling. He explained the participants How the Radio
communications has helped him to improve his abilities in these activities.

training Center informed the new entrants of this hobby that the Ham members of
Vijayawada procured Very High Frequency Repeater equipment with all the
accessors and kept ready to install it on the hill top of Gunadala at a height
of 700 feet from the ground level. This arrangement enables all the Ham’s of
entire capital area of Andhra Pradesh free communication facility with low cost
wacky talky handsets and their services can be of great help at the time of
upcoming “Krishna Pushkaralu” and in Natural calamities.
A
representation was made to the District administration for the permission to
install the repeater on the hilltop of Gunadala. All the Ham enthusiasts of
this area are eagerly awaiting for the approval from the concerned authorities.
This will certainly boost the image of upcoming new capital city of “Amaravati”.
